On the eve of World Earth Day in April, we launched a campaign under the theme "Unleash the Power of Your Actions for a Better Planet". In this event, participants upcycled old or used items to uncover their true beauty. In addition to re-purposing these pre-existing items, attendees also crafted beautiful creations, shared the inherent value of beauty, and worked together to ultimately create a more beautiful world.
Throughout the event, we advocated for environmental protection. We launched an online contribution page to inspire individuals to share their upcycled creations and also arranged environmental film showings at the event itself. These activities resulted in widespread interest and contemplation regarding environmental protection, low-carbon practices, and sustainable lifestyles.
By drawing inspiration from Yayoi Kusama's iconic polka dot art, we transformed small roadside branches, discarded disposable chopsticks, spare yarn balls, and tiny vases into handmade mini Christmas trees, adding a distinctiveness to our home. Additionally, we artfully fashioned appealing earrings from cat hair.
With creativity and crafting skills, we can breathe new life into obsolete or old items, giving them new uses and value.
Moreover, we watched a film about environmental protection. In this nearly hour-long documentary, viewers were drawn into the stories that unfolded around the globe during the global pandemic lockdown through the cinematography's compelling visual storytelling and David Attenborough's singular narration. These stories showed us the positive and beneficial transformations in the natural world brought about by changes in human behavior.
Earth Day calls on us all to strive for a better world. All of us have a responsibility to practice environmental protection, carry out low-carbon actions, and pursue sustainable lifestyles. As we embark on this journey, we continuously explore the essence of beauty, craft beautiful creations, share the significance of beauty, and create a world full of splendor.
